About Linear Cut Planner
Linear Cut Planner is a free tool for planning straight cuts in timber, pipes and metal profiles. Enter the stock you have, the parts you need, the saw kerf and any end trim to get a cutting layout and a printable work sheet.
What the calculator supports
You can use millimetres or inches, mix stock lengths, set available quantities and include reusable offcuts as stock. Part lists can be imported from CSV. You can save and reopen an order file without creating an account.
How plans are calculated
The planner tries different arrangements to reduce the total length of stock used. It checks each arrangement against part quantities, available stock, saw kerf and end trim. The search is bounded to keep the page responsive, so a valid result is not a guarantee of the best possible arrangement. Orders are limited to 200 parts.
Before you cut
Check dimensions, material compatibility, quantities, blade width and the printed layout against your actual stock. This tool plans one-dimensional straight cuts; it does not plan sheet nesting, angles, grain direction or machine movements. Use one compatible material and profile per order.
Files and saved work
Calculations and file imports run in your browser. The current draft and language preference are saved on this device when browser storage is available. Save an order file if you need a portable copy or a backup. See the privacy notice for details.
